LegalDraft for review

Accessibility Statement

What we have built this site to do, what we have measured, and what we know is still short.

This is a draft. It has been structured and written to the point where only the client’s own facts are missing, and every one of those is marked below. It is not legal advice and should not be published or relied on until the client approves the completed document.

What we are aiming at

We use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our design and testing target. Accessibility obligations can vary by organization and jurisdiction, so this statement is not a substitute for legal advice.

What has been done

The current site includes:

  • Text contrast is measured against the pixels actually rendered behind it, including text over photographs, rather than against the nearest background colour in the markup
  • Interactive targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels on touch screens
  • The site is usable by keyboard, and focus is visible
  • Motion is transform-based and content never depends on an animation running, so nothing is invisible if scripts fail
  • A reduced-motion preference is respected across the site
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology
  • Headings run in order and are used for structure rather than for size

What we know is still short

The quote form and booking scheduler are configured and tested in production. The site has not had an independent accessibility audit.

Telling us about a problem

If any part of this site is difficult to use, email devon@dmerchandising.com with what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 24 to 48 hours and will consider requests for accessible formats and communication supports.

Reviewing this

We review this statement at least annually and whenever there is a material change to the site or to our accessibility approach.
